NEW YORK – January 8, 2026 – YouTube has officially rolled out its “Recap 2025” feature, providing users with a comprehensive, personalized look back at their viewing habits throughout the year. Similar to the widely popular Spotify Wrapped, YouTube Recap 2025 offers a broader spectrum of insights into a user’s entire viewing activity on the platform.
Currently available to users in North America, with a global rollout anticipated soon, Recap 2025 presents up to 12 customized cards. These cards highlight individual user statistics, including their most-watched channels, emerging interests, and the evolution of their content consumption patterns. A particularly novel aspect of the feature is its ability to categorize users into one of 11 distinct personality types based on the content they engage with.
Accessing the personalized Recap is straightforward: users must be logged into their YouTube account and navigate to the “You” tab within the application.
However, certain conditions apply to access. Recap 2025 will not be available for users under 13 years of age or those with supervised accounts. Additionally, users whose viewing history is paused or who have the auto-delete function activated for their watch history will not be able to generate their personalized recap.
Beyond the general viewing summary, YouTube also offers a dedicated music activity recap for users who have accumulated at least 10 hours of music listening on the platform throughout 2025.
In conjunction with the individual Recaps, YouTube has also released its official year-end lists. These lists showcase the top trending topics, most popular creators, highly-listened podcasts, and hit songs that defined the platform’s landscape in 2025, offering a broader perspective on the year’s digital content trends.
